The Cranbrook P&C Association is a dedicated group of parents, caregivers, staff and community members who support the school. Operating under a constitution and framework approved by Education Queensland, the P&C provides an essential link between families, the wider community and the school.
The P&C’s primary function is to support student learning by providing additional resources and enhancing the school environment. It also provides information and advice to the Principal and administration team regarding the direction of the school.
The P&C contributes to a range of areas, including:
- learning and teaching
- information and communication technology
- grounds maintenance and development
- school policy input and endorsement
- financial planning
- fundraising to enhance the learning environment.
Through successful grant applications and fundraising activities, the P&C helps provide resources and environmental improvements that benefit students. Over the years, it has made valuable contributions to the school and continues to do so with the support of parents, caregivers, community members and staff.
The P&C also operates the
tuckshop and
uniform shop. The tuckshop provides a service to students and staff while also raising funds for the school. Volunteers are a vital part of the tuckshop’s operation, and any time that can be offered, even as little as one hour in the morning, is greatly appreciated.
All parents, caregivers and community members are welcome and encouraged to get involved in whatever capacity suits them, whether by becoming a P&C member, attending meetings, nominating for executive positions, volunteering in the tuckshop, or assisting with fundraising events. Meetings are informal, run for approximately one and a half hours, and provide a valuable opportunity to have your say and be involved in decision-making.
The P&C meets on the third Monday of each month at 6.00pm in the Staffroom.
Membership is renewed annually at the annual general meeting. People applying for membership do not need to be present at the annual general meeting for their application to be considered; however, a signed application form must be submitted. Membership applications are considered as the last item on the general meeting agenda.
Student representative funding is also available, with applications able to be made by submitting the relevant
application form.
